Här 10 doktorandtjänster i complexa system i Southampton för matematiskt inriktade biologer. Ganska många i en stöt. Finns det inte någon svensk matematikbiologiepostlista, kanske vore något att forwarda till den?

The University of Southampton's ICSS is a centre for research in the Complexity Sciences, including the fields of theoretical evolutionary biology and theoretical ecology (among many others).
If your research interests include theoretical biology and computational modelling then you are encouraged to consider the ICSS's EPSRC-funded Doctoral Training Centre for your PhD. We are an EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Complex Systems Simulation. The programme recruits 20 students per year. Ten of these are fully funded through generous ICSS EPSRC studentships, with the remainder funded either by a partner School within the University of Southampton, or independently.
The doctoral programme is four years in length, comprising a one-year taught component followed by a three-year research component, pursuing a research project that is chosen or even defined by the student themselves. There are currently doctoral students studying major evolutionary transitions, computational ecological modelling, evolutionary game theory and the thermodynamics of early life, to give but a few examples from the life sciences.
Studentships covering tuition fees and an enhanced maintenance grant of £16,500 per year are available, subject to eligibility criteria. This is a great opportunity. The application process for October 2012 entry is open already. For details on how to apply, see:
